For some women it works just like clomid. I asked my OB/GYN about it when I saw him Thursday about it and he said that it's not as harsh as clomid and that from what he knows about it, that it doesn't overstimulate your ovaries as bad as clomid would.
I'm going to try it my next cycle(had a chemical PG earlier this month so have to wait until Aug) and I will let you know how it works.

I was just at my obgyn and approved it with her, and I'm going to try this next cycle...it is our last cycle before trying medicated, so we are going ALL OUT: Robitussin, Instead cups, elevating afterward, OPKs, BBT, checking CP and CM, and NO vacations or out of town days whatsoever until after O...
My main problem is that I'm in my 30s...and I have incredibly long cycles (45-70 days)...at that point, by the end of this next cycle it will be just about 6 months of TTC...

I'm taking 110mg of soy isoflavones (2 pills of 55mg each) on days 4,5,6,7,8 of my cycle - but only for those 5 days. After those days, I will not eat any more soy at all the length of my cycle (because soy close to O can lead to infertility)...the goal is for it to make me O sooner, and to have better egg quality...

I have read that the later that you take it (starting at CD4 or CD5), the more it increases egg quality...the earlier (starting at CD1 or CD2) the more it increases your chance of multiples...

You guys can check up on me next cycle - and I'll also let you know how everything goes!!
Oh, I'm also getting an HSG on CD10, and DH is going to get an SA...

My update on soy so far...
I took 110mg (it was CVS brand Soy Menopause - 2 tablets) in the AM from CD4-8.
I am also taking Zinc, Folic Acid, B6, Evening Primrose, and Hemp Oil.
I had some weird S/E from the soy (at least I think it was from the soy) - my head was super super itchy...I had really bad dandruff, like I've never seen before...my skin also broke out - like 10 pimples (I hardly ever have one pimple)...nothing else that I could tell...
But overall, taking the pills wasn't bad...

I also got my HSG done on CD8 - not too bad either...

But, this week I had a MEGA TON of stress...stress has been known to push my O back significantly so this will really test if the soy worked, am trying to take it as easy as possible now...

The last two cycles (where I had no stress at all), I Oed on CD31/32...I will be over the moon happy if I could O around CD20-25 this cycle...

Wanted to update...am now on CD17, have a bit more CM then the last two cycles, but think that might be due to the Evening Primrose...am not even bothering to start charting temps until tomorrow (it lowers my stress when I dont have to temp)

Am still insanely itchy...but Benadryl helps...am think that might be due to it being spring, and we have a ton of trees and pollen...

However, I've also gained 6 pounds...this is in ONE WEEK!! I have been the same weight since I was 15, so a sudden 6 pound weight gain is HUGE for me...and I'm not thrilled about it...that I do think is due to the soy...

I've been trying to avoid soy completely for the last week - but its hard...we went to a tex-mex place on Friday, and I know that my burrito didnt have any soy (margarine) in it...but then I ate all these corn tortilla chips...and now I'm thinking that they might have been fried in soy oil - who knows...

Will update next weekend if anything changes...again, my goal is to O on CD20-25...anything around there would be great...

Wanted to update...
My little weight gain was temporary - I was back down to normal within 2 weeks...
I didn't O till CD33...which is a bit later than the last two cycles, but considering the amount of stress I've had this cycle (we are closing on a house on Tuesday), it wasn't significantly different...
BUT, the huge difference I noticed was that I got 2 days of + OPKs this cycle - previously, I'd come close to a + (once) but never actually gotten a + ever (and I've taken more than 70 OPKs...and the + OPKs were very accurate...I Oed the day after my last + OPK...so, I thought that was a good sign...

We timed BD pretty well this cycle, a whole lot better than the last two cycles, thats for sure!
Now, it is just wait and see...

Hearts.On.fire - howi s your cycle going?

Soy cycle was a BFN - and my wait to O was longer (34 days instead of 31 days), got major itchies, weight gain, and my luteal phase was shorter (10 days compared to my normal 12 days)...

Given all that, I'm not too impressed, and will not be using it again...just wantedto keep yougirls updated!!

This next cycle I'm using Clomid, cause my OB is worried cause my cycles are nearly 2 months long each...
