I used Femara and Metformin to conceive after 4 months of annovulation caused by PCOS (I had my period and was not ovulating). My RE uses this combination a lot in "sub-fertile" women. I took it on CD 2. I got pregnant on the first try! Sadly, due to something completely unrelated (an undiagnosed medical condition), my son was born an angel. However, we are TTC again in 10 weeks, and we will be using Femara (with insulin) again. I'll let you all know how it turns out!

I am so glad I have found a few posts about this...looks like Femara is new to alot of people. I have just started to take my first round of Femara and I am also taking a HCG Injection and progesterone supplements this month for the first time. No major side effects yet, more mood swings if anything....would love to hear from others that are taking this or what success people have heard yet?

I am on my second round of Femara. The first time I was on 2.5mg and didn't even ovulate. So as of right now I am on 5mg,I go in Friday to do the blood work to check and see if I ovulated or not. Finger crossed we have been having BMS EVERYDAY!

I have regular cycles, but we were doing an IUI cycle and we did it medicated. I took 2.5mg for days 3-7 and I developed and released 2 eggs.

The only effect I had was that I really tired the first 2 days....but that was it. No other side effects. It costed me $60.88 for 5 pills.

I just finished my first round of this... 5mg's a day on CD 3-7. Right now I'm on CD10 and I have some minor sharpness on both my ovaries today. But while taking the pills I was tired for the first 2-3 days and had no appetite at all

I just started Femara on cd4-8. The only side effects that I'm noticing right now is that I have a hard time sleeping at night and horrible headaches.
The 5 pills cost me $42CAD and unfortunately my insurance only covers it if it has been approved ahead of time, which means that my dr. would have to fill out a special form and send it in for the approval...too much hassle for such a small cost if you ask me.

Hey everyone,
If you go to the official Femara website you can print a coupon for a free 30-day trial of Femara that your doctor will sign and most pharmacies will accept (my Walgreens in Indiana accpeted it) OR you can also print a coupon for a $10 prescription and you don't need doc to sign coupon, just need the prescription.

Best of luck!
