Hi girls I was wondering if I could get some help...

My Dr is going to be putting me on Clomid after my husband has his test done later this month.. Im trying to better understand the process of it and to also meet some people who also have taken it the side effects they had and also if you did get pregnant while taking it how soon? Im assuming my dr will bring me into her office to explain things as well before I start but I would like to just better understand.. Thanks in advance!

im currently finishing my fourth cycle of clomid..the first three were 50mg and i had side effects only the first month..i had sore bbs and nausea with headaches and hotflashes i thought i was pg but bfn!! so the next two cycles no side effects then 100mg i felt the hotflashes and headaches again..maybe becuase it was a higher dose...but i have other issues too so just becuause i didnt get prego..doesnt mean you wont!! These were my symptoms but everyone is different! Good luck!! tons of babydust!

I'm on my second cycle of Clomid. Last cycle I had some hot flashes while I was taking it, an increase in CM, and mood swings primarily towards weepiness. This cycle has been uneventful so far. I'm not holding my breath for a BFP, but I have PCOS and I doubt that the dosage is correct.

I scared the daylights out of myself reading about nasty side effects and it wasn't until after I had almost none that I realized most of the complaints came from dosages of 150-200mg. Way more than I was taking! I just take it in the morning after I get DD on the bus (I have to drive her to the bus stop) so if it makes me dizzy I won't be driving. The side effects only last a couple hours and that way I could sleep at night.

Thanks for your help MamaAnna.. I did the same thing trying to find out info about Clomid and by the time I was done reading the drug info I was wondering how in the world do so many people take it then?? But then I started reading symptoms from actual people and I feel much better where your other children concieved with Clomid?

I just got hot flashes and some night sweats when I was on Clomid. Nothing too bad. Good luck!!

i took clomid and my side effects were slight edginess but not total mood swings. and i had severe hot flashes.

First round of clomid last month ... days 5 - 9 ... 100mg ... headaches only ... but pretty roten ones and I NEVER get headaches
AF is here now ... next round of clomid to start in a few days ... 100mg again

The second month I was a little emotional on top of the headaches and hot flashes but it was not anything unbearable. About that time my husband had some seizures and that put the baby plans on hold - I needed him to be healthy! Since then I have had exploratory surgery, lost 45 lbs and an hopefully on my way now. We did not do any medicianl intervention during the last year. But I have had some irregular bleeding since my surgery so I startred Clomid for the second time yesterday. So far so good. The first time I was on it I got up to the 150mg a day and the side effects kicked up a notch. But again, it was not unbearable.

Doctors seem to prescribe Clomid as if it's cough medicine. My Dr. gave me a prescription saying it would help with my pre-menstrual spotting and when I got home I realized it was Clomid! She didn't give me any direction except what as on the box. Take a pill once a day on CD 3-7. So I've been reading up on when it makes you ovulate and when we should be BD. I have found that it seems to depend on the person when you ovuate, so I have just decided to BD everyother day starting Day 10 until we see my thermal shift.
I didn't experience many symptoms, a few headaches and general warmer temp in my body but that's about it so far.

I took it days 5-9 of my cycle. I noticed sore BB's, hot flashes and dizzyness. I took mine at night to minimize the side effects. One thing I've been telling people is that I didn't O when my dr told us to BD. I'm currently on cycle day 40 and I am just now O'ing. I noticed EWCM on Saturday and just happened to take a OPK and it was positive. I've heard from other women that there is a delay as well. Hope you see your BFP soon!
