regular periods and clomid?????

i posted this in a diff section but i think maybe i should have put it here can anyone help?
hi i am 40 years old..i have a 15 year old child..i am recently re-married and TTC ...we already got pregnant once but miscarried...now we went to a fertility dr. b/c we used the ovulation kit and i ovulated right on track but didnt concieve...and my hubby is in the Marines and about to deploy overseas so we are kind of in a rush...she put me on clomid..but i just read that this is for ppl who have irregular periods??? and I do not?? mine come everymonth same time? Does anyone know why she would prescribe this?

It could be that you have a short LP that it might lengthen, you may have a varying O date, she may suspect weak ovulation due to age, etc. There are a lot of reasons for using Clomid beyond irregularity. I hope it does the trick! Good luck!

Clomid is used to stimulate ovulation - you tend to ovulate stronger and more eggs on Clomid. It's used for people who even have regular cycles just to make them ovulate better. That's probably why your dr prescribed it.

i was on it and i have regular periods. they may have given it to you in order to strengthen your ovulation and better your chances.
