Tell me about Menopur :)

I read in one of the postings in another thread that it burns? I've taken Microdose Ovidrel (which is suppose to be the same?) in the past. I don't remember it burning. I am nervous about having to mix Menopur up! The pharmacy mixed the microdose ovidrel up for me!

Hey just had my first dose of Menopur last night. It burned a TINY bit...literally I had built myself up for madness and it was nothing. The mixing is easy too...did they give you a dvd with it? Follow along with the DVD and you won't forget a step!

Questions let me know!

With a normal dose of one vial of Menopur I didn't get any burning.... but when they increased it to 3 vials in one dose, man that stung!!! But my guesses are you will NOT be using that much.

(I'm on a special protocol.)

YAY Becky! Congrats on the first dose! No dvd was sent...are you talking about the pharmacy providing the dvd? Hmmm. I think that I will take the meds with me on Friday to my scan and ask the nurse.

Natalie - Just one vial for me! And it sounds like I should be thankful!

The class I took at my RE on injectibles supplied me with a dvd. Look on youtube I'm sure you can find a ton of videos on it if you're confused!

Let's hope I don't work up to 3 vials...but you never know!

Natalie, how do you stand the shots for 3 vials of this stuff?!! LOL We mixed about 3/4 ml of the fluid to the powder. It is definitely a noticeable shot!

It does burn more with each vial! I'm up to 2.5 and it's a stinger.

I believe I use 1 ml of fluid, so that's part of it... plus i actually increased the fluid to 1.25 last time to help dilute it a little more (nurses said I should try it to help with the stinging!). Other than that... I scrunch up my face and say "ow!" while I get it. LOL!
