i just wanted to find out if any of you ladies know of any medical journals or studies that have been done on clomid and its affects on having multiples, ovary stimulation and follicular amounts.

i do ovulate but very late and produce poor eggs. my doctor will be prescribing clomid to us when we are ready to use it and i would just like to do reading on it. i know what it does but i just cant seem to get enough information.

I'm on my 3rd round of Clomid and try to check in here, but I've noticed this sub-forum really doesn't see very much activity, so I wind up forgetting... because there's hardly ever anything new to read.

I think it's unfortunate, considering how many women on JM are taking Clomid. I wind up Googling or just being frustrated and waiting to see what happens. I thought about starting one of those Social Groups for Clomid Chicks... but I already host a board and it would just be too much on my plate. Hopefully someone will have the same idea.

Sadly, I have nothing to offer as far as medical journals or studies or anything... If you do find something, PLEASE post it here! I spend so much time scouring the interwebs for anything that could be helpful.

I can only speak from personal experience ...
My OB/GYN said multiples are VERY possible with Clomid AND my advanced age. I was 39 when we were trying for baby #1.

My daughter Addison is a Clomid baby.
It was my second round of Clomid after trying on our own for 8 months.

The first US showed 3 sacs ! Triplets on my first pregnancy ! Holy CRAP!

The next US showed 2 sacs with "poles" ... 1 had a heartbeats at that point, which was early according to my OB/GYN. Ok ... I can handle 2 babies ... haha

The next US only had the one sac ... the one that had the heartbeat in US #2.

My doc said he was sceptical to call it triplets ... did make a note on the US of possible twins with the second US ... but ultimately Addison was all I carried. He said my body absorbed the other sacs.

Medical studies ... I don't know ...

But that is my story (the short version) ... hope it helped

I just started clmid myself. Would love to read studies if you find any. My RE said the chances of multiples with Clomid increases with age. Two of my friends took clomid both in their mid to upper twenties. One had twins and one had a single.I definitely wouldn't mind multiples as I dont have any children. Haven't had any crazy side effects yet either.
