I have a pair of Medela soft shells for sore nipples and decided to give them a shot today. Has anyone heard of these or used them before? I know they also have a set for inverted or flat nipples but I do not have those. They are a plastic shell and the back clips on. They have air vents at the top and you can put a collection sponge in the bottom. I can say they make for a good silhouette if nothing else. I have a good amount of leakage and tried avent cloth pads last night only to wake up to a soaked shirt and my breast were so engorged I was shooting milk all over my bathroom. That was horrible. I will let you know how these work out.
I know this is a little late, but I used these for a few weeks. I had such sore cracked nipples, my mom bought these for me from the pharmacy. They really helped keep the nipples dry and away from anything. But on the downside, I would get clogged ducts all around the edge when wearing them. But for sore nipples, it was helpful to wear a few hours a day.
I wore these when I had badly cracked nipples. They were nice in keeping my nipples dry and away from clothing, so it didn't irritate them more. It made me leak more than usual though and are very obvious under clothing.
