Hi ladies!
I was wondering if I could get some advice or input from someone who is experienced with all this pumping stuff...
I bought the Medela Harmony (manual pump) because I only intended to pump once in a while when I needed it. I
am a SAHM to a 4.5 month old. I had surgery on one of my breast to remove a tumor in the milk ducts a couple years
ago so that breast naturally doesnt produce as much milk. Well since it doesnt produce much my daughter started getting
really fussy each time I put her on that side (even though I would move her to the next side when it was empty)..all
the sudden she refused to nurse from the side that doesnt produce much so my supply has almost dried up from that
side completely. The only reason it hasnt is because I pump from that side.
I want to build my supply back up but it seems like my manual pump just isnt doing its job anymore..ive tried replacing the membranes
and cleaning it and all that but I can hand express more than the pump gets out. So I was wondering if I should invest in maybe the
Medela Swing pump? I would like to get a stash of milk to keep for when I go out or need to run errands or whatever.
also thinking of my next child whenever that may be...I would like something more than a manual.

Sorry that was long...but I am just asking for any input or advice...on pumping..on the swing..anyone use the swing?
Thanks so much!

Hey Christa

I have the Medela Harmony, I used to struggle to get milk to come out when I used it, but I am now acustomed to the pump and all i have to do is think about pumping and I leak.

I know quite a few people who use the swing and love it! infact I want to go out and buy one tomorrow (to use on the plane, instead of carting my double pump on) but DH says no more pumps (I have a PISA and a Harmony)

Electric pumps are much more efficent at emptying the breasts.

I say go for the swing

Hey Christa! Yes, definite get the Swing...it will make pumping so much easier, therefore you will have a better chance at increasing your supply on that side.

Good luck!
