he's only 4 months, but in the morning when DH is getting ready for work (i work early so he has the morning shift) or in the evening when i'm home alone cooking dinner, we'll position his swing in front of the tv and put cartoons on. he's very amused and then falls asleep!

Very little at home. When he gets transfixed, we usually turn it off. At my mom's during the day? Well that is another story. . . she just keeps saying how he likes to 'watch the changing colors.' Not my preference, but can't argue with the free babysitter!

well when we are home the TV is always on. i really hate a quiet house. so Kyla will watch a bit here and there. but i make sure its programmes aimed at her age group and educational.

I'll put her in the bouncey seat when I'm getting ready in the morning and put on a kids show--I'll look at all the kids channels and decide which one will be brighter colors, etc. This morning I had her on the floor with toys and the tv was on. She just laid there and stared at the tv, so I shut it off and she started rolling and scooting to the toys instead.
When I pick her up at my parents I'll sit with her on my lap and talk to them and no matter which way I move her she will turn her head to look at the tv.

I don't usually put her in front of the TV, but if it happens to catch her eye (usually if I'm holding her and standing near the television), she'll watch for a bit but then lose interest. My MIL bought her some Baby Einstein DVDs for Easter and we tried putting one on for her but it didn't keep her interest for very long.
