Ok so we're heading home today (1 hour and 45 min drive) and I obviously have to take quite a bit of my stash with me to keep up with Libby's needs for the week. We will be gone from today til next Sunday to prepare for her bday party!

Sooo, I am packing the frozen milk in a cooler. I plan to put a bunch of ice in the bottom of the cooler and let it set for awhile to get cold, put in the milk, and then dump a crap ton more on top of it.

We have to make it the entire way, plus having to stop and order her cake (it's on the way)... so probably 3 hours max it will be out of the freezer... do you think I'll be okay. Do you have any pointers or tips?

it will be fine for that short amount of time. My only tips - just keep the cooler out of direct sunlight. If the cooler won't fit in the trunk and will be in direct light - just put a big blanket over it for extra insulation. (and yes, tons of ice! )

We travel to Ontario (6 hrs 1way) and I haven't lost any frozen foods yet and that's in the back of the truck in full light the whole time.

Ok good. I don't know why I think a cooler full of ice isn't as cold as my freezer lol

it should be fine. We took an 8 hour car ride with frozen BM in a cooler with 2 cooler packs and it was frozen solid when we got there!

I missed this thread earlier. I hope all is well and the BM made the trip. I'm sure you will be fine. We flew on a 8 hour plane trip with frozen BM and it all made it fine. I just froze the fresh stuff when we got there and used the frozen stuff first to feed the girls.

Happy Early Birthday Libby!!!
