Is a hand pump more effective then an electric pump, I have a hand pump and a single electric pump..should I be using both to keep my supply up?

Different people respond differently to different pumps, but, in general, I don't think that a hand pump is more effective than an electric. Many people just have a hand pump (if they have one at all) as a backup.

ditto to the above. I think that most people would use an electric because it's "easier", but Keiran a former co-hpst here used a single hand pump for over a year pumping at work for her daughter. so .. whatever works for you is probably the best answer. What you may wish to try is using both at once. A lot of people find that by double pumping they get better (longer and more) letdowns .... and of course it cuts your pumping time in half.

Whatever you use, I suggest pumping for 5 mins after the flow stops to tell your body it needs to make more.

Good luck.
