I haven't done it, but know some people that have. but it takes ALOT of work/dedication to keep up with the pumping every 2 hours for the first month or so.

Ok the pumping every 2/3 hours I don't mind .. I just wondered if a decent supply can be got with just pumping. I pump every 2 or 3 hours a day, which yes does feel like a chore at times .. but I think of the benifits it is for her, even tho she does get formula as well .. I'm glad i'm able to pump for her .. even if it is a small amount that amounts to maybe one feed a day ../ its something right ?

definatly it's good for her!

just mimic her growth spurts to, so if she is eating mroe often you'll want to pump more often as well.

That's not really something that a definite answer can be given for, since it is different for everyone. Some women have a very hard time pumping anything, while they can produce plenty for their baby while it is nursing directly. Some people can exclusively pump for 6 months and then start to dry up, some for a year, and some have gone on even longer! It does take lots of dedication, you really need to pump very frequently, especially the first few months.

I have a decent supply though it has dropped the last few weeks (working a lot, sick, hormonal IUD placed). But I have a little over a months supply saved in my freezer. It is a ton of work tough, and I pumped around 8x in 24 hours in the beginning, now around 6.
