Does you LO drink a day? I'm going back to work next Monday and DS will be 11 weeks old. I will be gone around 9 hours. I'm having a hard time figuring out how many times he'll eat based on right now cause our sleeping schedule is different. When I give him bottles now I put 3-4 oz in them but it seems he always spits up when he gets 4 so I'm thinking 3.5 is good.

How many would you start with? My mil is watching him at our house so there is extra milk in the freezer if necessary.

I was away 11 hours and my DD had 12oz, over 4 bottles (so 3oz each) from when I went back at 3 months, until 9 months when I started cutting back a bit.

I'd say smaller bottles are best at first.

Here is a helpful page from kelly mom about bottle feeding the breastfed baby: kellymom.com :: How to bottle-feed the breastfed baby. Some of the points, like pacing, were important for us because my DD would guzzle a bottle and overeat, if we let her.

I agree that smaller bottles are better, especially if she is there where there is more readily available if the LO is still hungry. They say the rule of thumb is 1 oz per hour and I think that is a pretty good thumbrule if baby is still eating at night. When mine stopped eating at night, they definitely upped the ammount they ate during the day to compensate so that overall they were still probably getting the same ammount.
