So whenever DS gets a bottle of pumped milk he seems to spit up more often and more quantity. I use slow flow nipples and have told whoever is feeding him to stop and try to burp every oz. However he SCREAMS when you do this. I only put 3 oz in a bottle so I don't think it's too much.


Anyone know any tips to get him to drink slower and to help prevent spitting up? Would gas drops before the bottle help?

I'm going back to work Monday so he's going to be getting bottles a lot more frequently. I hate the thought that he's not really getting all the milk I'm pumping he's just spitting it up!

Maddie will spit it all back up if you don't get it warm enough for her. Are you freezing/ refrigerating it and then warming it up? Maybe that could be his issue.

With bottles babies take in more air, so it could be wind related. Also my MW and HV have told me on both my girls that it doesn't matter the amount they spit up as they have already taken the norishment they need from it. Not sure what you can do to minimise the amount or if anything would work. I've always just worked along the lines of the ywill throw up what amount they want whatever you do lol .. and also if he is still settled 3/4 hours or however long he goes between feedings then I wouldn't worry about how much he spits up x
