Do you ever hand express milk, either alone or after pumping?

What's your method?

Do you find it helpful?

I hand express a little mostly after breastfeeding, mostly bc I don't feel she drains me completely and I'm worried about clogs. I just feel better and it relieves some of the engorgement.

I hand express often. I always hand express after pumping, because I'll get another 0.5-1oz if I do. And sometimes I hand express instead of pumping, just because, for me, it's faster and I can get just as much milk (or more). And throughout the day when the baby is napping, I'll express a little here & there. I think it's a great skill to have, especially for instances where your pump isn't working, or you forgot to pack flanges or something like that.
