I talked to my LC yesterday and she informed me of another supplement to help increase your milk supply. Many of us know about Fenugreek already but she said that it only works for about 40% of women. But she said if you take Fenugreek AND Milk Thistle (aka Blessed Thistle) it increases your chance of increasing your supply to 80% and this stuff WORKS!!! (At least it does for me...but I am one of the lucky 40% that the Fenugreek worked on its own for me!)

So if anyone is wanting to increase their supply then try these and let me know if they work for you as well as they do for me!!!

Good Luck!!!

I used both as well and they did work for me too...although Feenugreek worked better alone than Blessed Thistle did alone...

That is what the LC had me take too. Blessed Thistle and Fenugreek. I also recommend Mother's Milk Tea. I believe it has fenugreek and blessed thistle in it but I will have to double check that.

I have also always heard to take both blessed thistle and fenugreek together. Although I am in the lucky 40% that the fenugreek worked fine on its own. .

Are these supplements really safe to take? The thought that anything can be passed to baby makes me nervous. Has anyone talked to their pediatrician about it?

I havent talked to my pedi about it but my lactation consultant told me about them so I trust that she would know whether or not it is safe for my baby!

Well I know that they were recommended by my lactation consultant. There are a lot of qualifications that go into being a lactation consultant. Most lactation consultants are registered nurses and have a lot of experience in the medical field. I know a lot of women who have taken these and I have never heard of problems. If you are worried you could call your pediatrician first.
