My original due date was march 5th but I had Evelynne february 28th at 3:20 am, she weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 19 inches long.
I made an appointment friday the 26th to see my doctor because my tummy was swelling. after we went through the typical routine of our visits she noticed that i was showing signs of preeclampsia and she had me admitted to L&D for testing. After sitting there all day, my doctor came in and said that she wanted to induce because i did have preeclampsia. so that night we started cytotec (sp) to help soften my cervix. by noon the next day i had only dilated to 1.5/2 cm so she broke my water. After an hour of my water being broken i had asked for an epidural because im a big cry baby and my pain tolerance is pathetic! at 6pm i was dilated to 2.5/3 cm and thats when she started pitocin. Around 10 pm my IV line had a blockage and the nurse flushed it, somehow it caused a really big contraction that made Evys heart rate drop really low. After that no matter how much pitocin was going into my system i was having irregular contractions and didnt dilate more than 4 cm. At 230 or so i told my doctor that i was okay with a C-section, so i ended up with a C-section! Evys head was swollen due to the angle she was at while i was having contractions but it went down, thank God. After she was out i bled alot and it took over an hour to get it under control and closed up. Im so thankful to have her in my life and i couldnt be happier!
about a week after she was born i did get an infection in my uterus and incision, while we were at the hospital we noticed evy started to turn blue around her mouth. my mom took her to the ER where she was put on oxygen. poor little bug spent 3 days getting tested (they were worried she might have gotten my infection) she even had a spinal tap. All tests came back negative, they believe its either Periodic breathing or baby sleep apnea which she can grow out of both. Shes on oxygen for now and she is being treated for asthma. My infection is gone now after 2 straight weeks of IV antibiotics and wound V.A.C. therapy.
