14 Feb 03- I show up at the hospital at 5am for an induction. On an ultrasoun, he kidney has dilated and they wanted to get her out to check for any problems with her. Started pitocin drip at 5:30am, PITOCIN is the DEVIL!!!! Nothing happened, I was already dilated 1cm going in, but the pitocin didn't work. I was having 5 minute contractions with a 30 second pauses!! Finally around 3:30pm, still nothing, doc says we can do a c/s, I say go ahead!! 4:17pm, my beautiful little girl came into the world! 7lbs 10oz, 19.5 inches. I didn't even know they had pulled her out, I didn't feel a thing, until I heard the doc say, "it's a girl". I was soo happy. She turned out fine, turned out she was all normal in the kidney area, it was almost like she didn't want to tee tee in the womb much!LOL
5May06- I woke up with contraction at 2am, and went to the bathroom. Lost my plug. By this time, I was used to having contractions, I had been having ones 3 minutes apart for the last month, and had gone into the hospital thinking, more like hoping I was in labor the day b4. They hooked me up, said, "yep, you are having good ones, just not doing anything" So forward 36 hours later. I wake up, with contractions, 1 minute apart. I sat in the tub, got on the computer, and tried to take my mind off of them, but nothing helped! I was trying to prolong my time at home, for hopes of a better VBAC. Finally at 6am, I woke up my husband, and told him I was in labor! It was like one of those shows where the hubby goes flying around the house! He called his mother, and our friend who was going to watch our daughter. I took a shower, and then while he was, I was telling my oldest, mommy was off to have a baby boy, or a girl. I didn't find out what I was having, until I delivered!! We got to the hospital around 7am, they hooked me up, came in to give me an epidural, which I didn't want, but was ordered that I needed it, in case of an emergency. So gave me it, then broke my water. He had pooped. Then all was calm for a little while, Mike went down to get coffee, and then the nurses came flying into the room, telling me to lay on my side, hooked me to the oxygen, and then they called the doc, who came in,and told me the VBAC was going to be a no go, since his hear rate was dropping. So into the OR it was. As I was laying there, I yelled "WAIT!!!! I didn't sign the consent form for the tubal ligation!!!!" So we did a verbal, and they proceeded to cut. It was at this point I realized the difference between an epidural and a spinal!! I felt it all, not the pain, just felt it!! WIERD and creepy. They were all laughing cuz the baby was soo big. They pulled him out, and said "It's a...." and I thought they said girl, but they said NOOOO it's a BOY!!! Weighed him, 9lbs 4oz, 20 inches long!! BIG BOY!!
