I arrived at the hospital around 5pm on 2-26-07, I got all settled and they inserted the Cervidil (sp) at 6pm. About a hour after my contractions were getting stronger. I was awake most of the night because of the pain.
6am the next morning 2-27-07 the nurse removed the cervidil (sp) and said before they could strat the pitocine they had to make sure Makyiah was responding good by hooking me up to the heart monitor. She was being very active and was not going to be still at all LOL. Finally they got a good steadyreading on her. Pitocine was started around 7:30 am and they started the doses at 12 and upped every half hour by 6. My contractions were getting very strong. My doctor came in at 12pm to check and see if I was dialted any more and I had progressed to about 2 cm. He went a head and broke my water and inserted a internal heart monitor on Makyiah. When the pitocine had hit the does of like 72 andand my contractionswere 2-5 minutes apart I finally asked for some pain medicinethat was the best feeling LOL. I was in heaven. A little before 3pm the nurse came in and had me change positions because Makyiahs heart rate was droping down to the 80's and 90's well it didn't help and the doctor came in and said it was time for a emergency C-Section. I was so scared just because I didn't want a EPI and it made it worse when they said I'd be getting a spinal instead. we got back to the OR and they got me ready gave me the spinalwhich wasn't bad at all. I didn't feel anything people say you feel like pressure and tugging but i didn't feel anything.; Makyiah Marie Lashae was born at 3:22p.m. pn 02-27-07 weighing 6 lb 13 oz and 19 inches long. The night beofre we came home they tested her for jaundice and she had it at 9.1 she had her first dr. appointment this past monday and her jaundice has went down she goes back tomorrow for a weight check......
