My name is Christen. I'm 19 years old and I live in Denver, CO with my husband Tim. We've been married for a little over a year.
My C section story just happened last week. I was originally due on August 31st. We were having a girl. Through my whole pregnancy, I had dealt with a mild case of preeclampsia that seemed to worsen with each doctor's visit. Friday, July 27th, 2007, I went to work. I work as a shift manager at Arbys. I had a relatively short shift. 11-4. When I got off work, I had a message from my doctor about some blood work that I had gotten done the day before. She told me the labs had come back abnormal and the enzymes in my liver had gone way up. She ordered me to get to the hospital right away.
So, I went and they drew some more blood. The results came back the same. So, the doctor decided that she needed to perform an emergency C section that night. If that weren't surprise enough, the doctor announced that our little girl was actually our little boy. So we named him after daddy. He was 4 lbs, 6oz and was 16.5 inches long.
So, I had no labor. Just the C section. I would like at least one more baby but not for a couple years, especially if I have to do it this way again.
