What have you set in stone that will happen that you just refuse to budge on?

For me it's my main color. Fuchsia. I want it to match star gazer lilies. I even wore fuchsia shoes to our little elopement ceremony, and I'll be having a pair of white wedding shoes dyed that color for next year.

I have my father daughter song picked out "daddy's little girl" by faith hill, and I plan on standing alone on the dance floor for the first half while a slide show plays out behind me, and then my grandfather is going to come out and hand me a hanky and dance with me to the butterfly kisses part. My dad died in March 2010.

I'm going to use Mama's song too. Since my mom was very very wary of DH at the beginning, the song fits us perfectly. I'm doing a scrapbook for her, and the book and a digital book will play on the screen behind her.

My maid of honor is chosen, my cousin who got married this year herself. My flower girl is my baby cousin Teanna (who's middle name is after my dad) and my jr Bridesmaid is her big sister Tori (who will be almost 9 at the time). DH's best man is a friend from our online game.. but we're missing the rest of his side. If he cannot find anyone and his son can't come my cousin's step son, or my bestfriend's son will walk with Tori. If he can find another I will ask a friend to be a bridesmaid.

I have not settled on a second (or third) color. I'm leaning towards turquoise, DH is wearing grey. I don't want the guys in pink. lol.

My cake is mentally designed. I think my maid of honor is going to make it. Her and some friends have been dappling with cakes, and they do a great job. They did her cake (they didn't let her help) and it was simple and well done. I want three tiers with the third one raised with flowers under it.

I have a lot planned for the fact we only chose our date the other day. LOL

Our flowers are daisies for sure! And our centerpieces are mason jars with the daisies in them! Other than that I have things decided but nothing absolutely 100% like the flowers and centerpieces!

Dasies would have been my choice.. BUT.. my cousin got married in August and she chose them. Even though they are my favorite flower and the inspiration behind my JM name (which in long form is Tithen Loth Nim.. tiny white flower), I don't want to reuse them less than a year later.

I like Stargazers though, and my bouquet from New Orleans looked amazing even though it was fake.

We have the wedding party complete now.. minus ring bearer since I don't want one I don't think.

And the little girls dresses are picked out. There's a picture of them in my blog. You might like the site Shea they have hundreds of dresses for little girls at really decent prices. Tori and Teanna's dresses will cost me $119 plus tax for the two! (sans petticoat, since I think their prices were too high, I'll find them elsewhere)

That's so sweet but omg i would so cry seeing it. I wanna cry now just reading it!!!

The thing i wouldn't budge on was my dress.

This is not really relevant but they screwed up my dress, it was late to begin with and came in ivory when i ordered white. I got the correct version of my dress in one week before the wedding and i had to do fittings in a matter of 2 days. I got a "back-up" dress in a different store just in case but i was so not going to be happy if i didn't have my dress! Luckily it worked out, and luckily for them i'm a calm person, i didn't yell or cry but my mom was livid and almost lost it.

Yeah I'm going for tears. I'm a bad kid lol.

I'm ordering my dress in april, in a size that fits me, but that can be taken in, since I do plan on losing a significant bit of weight. It also needs to be in a place that can do alterations last minute since I won't actually see my dress again until two weeks before the wedding when I go back to Canada. I'm hoping to buy it in April when I go home so that way I'm not worrying about paying duties on it when I come up for the wedding.

They never like to admit that they can do these things last minute, but they so can. When i got mine altered, since i was so short on time because of their mistake, they fitted me monday evening, i went back for a second fitting tuesday afternoon after the alterations were made then went back again on wednesday to make sure it was all perfect and to pick it up, the wedding was on saturday.

I know a couple of seamstresses who've worked on dresses from major designers in a pinch, so i'm sure I can find someone. worst happens, we do it ourselves. lol.

I'm going simple though, I might spend a couple hundred dollars. our weddnig budget is less than 7k, so that's what the average woman spends on a dress... but that's for my whole wedding.

Nothing wrong with going simple! I can't believe how much we spent on ours...you could buy a house for that kind of money...it's stupid to spend so much but i dunno, i wanted my dream wedding and would have probably regretted it if i didn't do it big

LOL I'd regret it if I spent too much! We could afford a bigger one, but a house is important to him, so I'm willing to spend less, so we can get one and stop travelling for work. haaate living in hotels!

Ashley - all of my flowers will be fake!! (I tried to copy your statement that said your bouquet was fake but my phone is being dumb!) I want silk flowers so they will last forever and I want to be able to get them earlier and not have to worry about them looking their best on my day cuz silk will always look its best. lol

Our wedding we are trying to keep budget friendly but man expenses just start adding up and get out of hand so easy! Lol. Crazy how much money we spend for 1 day!

My dad paid for the majority of ours, and my mom paid for my dress. We only paid for the DJ, favors and the honeymoon. I wouldn't have been able to pay up front what my dad paid so it would not have been as big as it was if we had to pay for it ourselves. DH and i were renting at the time as we weren't sure where we wanted to live so a house wasn't in the near future. It was way too expensive for us to live on Long Island and now 2 years later here we are about to move into our own home in FL! Oh and trust me i totally feel your hatred of living in hotels...that's what we've done since June and it sucks!!! I cannot wait to get out of here!!

LOL. We were in a hotel from April to August, and we've been in one since Oct 1st, and will pretty much be in one (or temp apartments.. with no furniture) until July.

That's once of the big reasons I'm ok with a semi small wedding. If we buy land, that puts us closer to buying a house, and being done being on the road for work. Which means no more hotels! wooot! We do have an apartment back in Wisconsin.. but we aren't there. LOL

I forgot to say that my centerpiece is picked out. We purchased it on our wedding night. We coudln't find one for him, but a friend is going to go back to New Orleans and see if she can ship me a black or grey one that looks manly. We also have a marble elephant that we bought the day before that will be used as a decoration too.. and a little jar of Sand from the day after that we got in Biloxi Mississippi.

I hate not having your own furniture and stuff, that's what i'm dealing with now too. I have some pots and pans and the computer, we bought a tv cuz the one here sucks. The mattress is also awful but we got a mattress topper so that helped. Ugh only a few more weeks!!!! Good luck with all your house stuff, this hotel business is no fun...i'd die if i had to stay here till next summer!

Thanks girlie. We'll be on job location until just before our wedding day, so it might be a hotel, or it could be a temp apartment. We're moving into a furnished apt Sunday to help his cousin out since she lost her job... means more space, and I'll be able to actually do something other than sit in the dark in the evening. woot!

We've also decided on favors as of this week. I want to do seed bombs wrapped in tulle

We've booked the hall, ordered invitations, DF is working on our website, We've decided on our colors (rich red and chocolate brown), I've found the cake design that I want and think I'm gonna try making it myself. I've also planned a meeting with a couple of people that I know that are trying to get into catering about food, we're going with little bites and not a full dinner. We're going to do a self serve bar with wine, beer and soft drinks. I'm looking at dresses, trying to find a maternity dress that I like. I'm hoping to keep the total cost at under 1.5K!

There isn't really anything that I won't budge on... I'm hoping to have everything nice and in a style that fits us, but mostly I'm just thinking of it as a big party! We're going to have a very simple ceremony and then celebrate with our close friends and family.
