Is anyone trying to shed a few pounds before their wedding?
For those who are married, did you lose any weight before hand?

Any advice?

I have almost 50lbs to lose, and we're getting ready to head into winter. I don't know what I'll do if I don't get some of the weight off by the wedding, I don't want to be large in my dress.

I'm no help yet again... I fully expect to look whale-ish by that point!

But I would think that the good thing is that you have some time... For me the trick to losing weight is always exercise. If I find something I enjoy or get motivated to workout, then the food is not much of an issue and I even start craving good food. Have you had luck with anything in the past?

twice in the past I've manged to loose a tonne. but it follows major stress parts of life and it just pours off. But I'm not under any stress, and for once I'm not poor (which makes not eating junk easier cause you have no money).... I've gained 25lbs since April

If I have no luck, I'm going to do the bad girl thing and try a gimicky diet followed by working out. I think if I could get some of the weight off I'd be able to handle going to the gym. Right now my hips and ankles aren't taking my weight well. I did walk 3.6 miles yesterday. But today I can barely sit and stand up. But I'll go again tomorrow for a 3 mile walk (distance to and from the grocery store) or I'll get one Giselle that came with our apartment.

My mom lost a tonne of weight in the last two years, and part of me refuses to get married if she is smaller than me. sounds petty yes... but that's how i've always been

I'm going to not worry too much about it until after the holidays. But I want to lose 10-15 lbs. before my wedding! I actually find it easier to lose weight when I have more money because healthy food is expensive!!! We are tight with money right now and only really buy junky food and things our daughter can eat because it's cheaper (frozen pizza, hamburger helpers, sandwiches and chips, etc). When I'm eating healthy there are so many different ingredients to buy to make a healthy meal and I have to make sure I make it to the grocery store every week to keep the fridge stocked with healthy options. Those smart ones dinners are my best friend when I'm "dieting" because they are easy and low cals and low fat dinner! But again, they are expensive!

I tried to lose weight before the big day, but honestly I didn't. Maybe ended up losing like five pounds the week of due to stress. Because I had already lost like forty pounds in the previous two years, my body clings on to the rest of the 15 I've been dying to lose. So before the big day I at least tried to do some arm and back toning exercises to at least make sure they looked better in pics although I didn't end up losing any actual pounds.

You definitely have time though! I am sure you are going to do great!
