What did you do for a cake or what will you do?
At the last wedding you attended ( your own or another) what did you think of the cake??

This was prompted by this image.
I think it's awful!

This is what I hope my cake to look like... or at least resemble. lol I've not decided if i want it to be butter cream or fondant. I'm thinking fondant. The flowers will be stargazer lilies and something turquoise.. maybe orchids, maybe died decorative grasses. Not idea on the topper, we had duckies on our first one

Last wedding I went to was my aunts.. and i don't think I got a picture of her cake..

but I went to a vow renewal the following year and this was their cake. Considering they live in a remote town that's more than 2 hours from anything, the cake was pretty nice!

At our wedding we had a red velvet cake with the cream cheese icing. I like what they can do with fondant but i don't really like the taste so that's why i opted out of it. I can't say that i was happy with the way the cake looked....it did not look like anything resembling what they showed me but oh well....it tasted great though!!!

And the last wedding i went to, this was last summer and this was the cake LOL To be honest, i can't remember how it tasted though.

lol I love that they have nintendo figures on it!

I'm sorry your cake didn't turn out like what you wanted. I think I'm going to ask some local girls who did my cousin's cake. Not positive. They're amatures, but they did do a good job.

and this is another that they've done

I'm planning to make my own... it won't be exact, but I'm hoping that it will look something like this:

Our cake was heart shaped tiers with butterflies. It was white cake with blueberry and strawberry filling. (Different tiers had different fillings.) We had the same caterer that did the food do the cake. It was delicious.

Eeeek this is one thing we still havent decided on yet....neither of us like icing so a traditional iced cake really isnt on the top of our list. We like the look and sound of chocolate covered cakes..however they cost ££££ and are a fair bit out of our budget.

Soooo...no clue really lol! Although we both agreed that a cake isnt our top priority and would rather have a more affordable cake and spend extra cash on other things.
