What piece of advice would you like to give to those of us planning our wedding?

Have a binder with all of your vendor's contact information in it and keep it with you, even on the wedding day. It helped me quickly find everything I need and it was also a life-saver on my wedding day. We had record snowfall and our venue didn't have power. I was able to pass it off to my bridesmaids and they handled contacting the vendors for me (to let them know the wedding was still on) so I didn't have to.

Tied for #1 would be to have a wedding website. I got one for free at Wedding Planning Guide and Free Wedding Websites - mywedding.com. It allowed me to post updates, I had a page of music requests, posted the menu ahead of time, really any details our guests wanted to know had it all there. I was even able to have people RSVP to the page. I had to do entrée counts for my reception site and the website exported an Excel spreadsheet for me. It was great not to have to field a million phone calls of questions!

Those are awesome pieces of advice!!! But that makes me so glad we're getting remarried in August and aren't doing a dinner! (we'd considered doing a dinner if we waited another year.. and then our venue burned to the ground this week!)

Since some good advice was already given i'll say the first thing that popped into my head.....Enjoy your day!!! The day/night goes by soooo fast and things will go wrong, it happens. I would make sure you know who your "go to" person is if things need to be fixed. I had some guests show up unexpectedly and the staff had to find a place for them to sit. The maitre 'd came to me with such an attitude repeatedly smashing his pointer finger on the paper with my seating chart!!! I told him "fix it!" and walked away...that probably sounds rude of me but it wasn't my fault and obviously i can't do anything about! I wasn't gonna let him act like a jerk and ruin my day! They fixed it and that was it. Also the boutineers for the guys didn't arrive on time (and well they ended up not getting them until the reception later on)...right away in the morning i designated someone to call the florist and figure all that out.

Also this is my second suggestion. Take your pictures early if possible. I know a lot of people take their pics during the cocktail hour (if you're having one) and if you are pressed for time i understand that might be the best time to do it. But if you have the opportunity to get them done earlier, i would do that. I wanted to use my cocktail hour to go around and say hello to everyone and thank them for coming, instead of having to do this during the actual reception. We ended up delayed a little bit because my dad had to return home quick and met us at the reception hall. Well he got stuck in traffic so we had to wait for him and that cut into my cocktail hour. I ended up having to go around in the beginning of the reception to every table and i really hadn't wanted it to pan out that way. But getting back to my first point, things happen! Try to go with the flow

-sorry that was kinda longer than i expected to make it!-

This is why we're alloting 3 hours between end of ceremony and start of reception (no cocktail hour) for photos. I told my brother he can have us for that long, and that he needs to understand we all need to EAT in that time too.
