Just curious if you ladies don't mind me askin...

Where are u from ? And how much is your midwife that you will be using for your homebirth ?

I'm from Pa but hopefully in a few weeks i will be in Georgia. I don't know what the going rate is for midwives are out there. I plan on getting more on the ball about finding out all that when we get down to Georgia.

I'm in NY and mine charges $5,500 but they also work with our insurance so I wont have to pay all of that.

I'm in northern VA and the licensed midwives charge $3000 (that's everything prenatal, birth, and postnatal except for renting the birth pool if you want it). I'm paying $2500 since the rates went up January 1st and I was pregnant before then.

I'm in southern VA and paid $2500 as well - as Heather said, that was for everything except the pool (less than $40) and a birth kit ($40-ish).

I live in Miami. Mine was $4,000 unless I paid in full by week 36, then it was a discount of $3,400. My midwife also worked with insurance, but we did not have maternity coverage.
