Hey everyone! I'm excited to be here, I'm having my 2nd little one in January (due Jan 10th) and I am finally getting the home birth that I wanted

With my daughter I got preeclampsia and had to be induced at 37 weeks, it was pretty scary because I was so sick, and I wasn't too fond of my hospital experience. Everyone was nice...but they were very pushy about epidurals, tried to give me an episiotemy, etc. I wasn't allowed to eat for like 48 hours and I was in bed with a catheter for about 36 hours, it sucked really bad.

So anyways! I have been much healthier during this pregnancy overall, and no signs of high blood pressure so far. I found a midwife that lives only about 15 minutes from me, and SO and I have our initial consult with her next Thursday. I did tell her about my history because the doctors at the OB clinic have me as high risk, even though I don't really consider myself high risk. She said as long as I follow the "rules" mostly relating to nutrition and stuff I should be fine. I have a ton of questions to ask her at our consult, I'm hoping to have a water birth so this is all really exciting to me!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you...I need a place where I don't have to be slammed for my decisions and told that I'm crazy or a bad mom for wanting to give birth at home.

The world today is upside down because there is so very little love in the home, and in family life. We have no time for each other. Everybody is in such a terrible rush, and so anxious…and in the home begins the disruption of the peace of the world.

Hello, welcome. I hope you get the homebirth you want!!!

I am pregnant with my eighth, I have had two previous homebirths, but also two previous c/sections amongst my births. My last baby was a planned homebirth that resulted in an emergency csection for a placental abruption. So I know what you mean about getting slammed about your decision to homebirth. According to every OB I am "high risk" as well.

Props to you for trying again! I hate it when people think that just because they have a c-section once they have to have it again...I guess they don't know that each time you have one it gets more and more risky. I have seen you while lurking around in the Dec DDC (hehe). My midwife has 7 kids! I can't imagine, I'm only on #2 lol!
