with our daughter we were in a hospital and my mom, sister were there while I pushed, but during the labor everyone was there, which was fine by me.
Now that I'm having a homebirth, I can't really imagine having everyone here.... I've decided (and DH too) that no one will be here (sans the mw/doula/assistants). We'll record the WHOLE thing and once the baby is born we'll have ppl come over and we can sit around, see the baby and watch the recording (reminisce) LOL!
Sounds good to me! With our son, we had people in and out of our hospital room but when it came to me pushing, only the doctor, nurses and Jason were allowed. My mom will be at my home birth to help tend to Gage so Jason can be my birth partner 100% when I need him.
We aren't having a darn soul at our hb (although I wouldn't hesitate to invite my bff if she wanted to come, but she's 7 hours away)...so the kids will hopefully either be asleep, or really really good! With Ele, Trupie was asleep, we woke him up a few minutes later. Thats what I want to happen again...but I have a feeling they'll be awake this time.
