Hi! I am preggo with my first after TTC for a year! Yay! Anyhoo, I always wanted to do a homebirth, but we are having a house built that is about 25-35 minutes away from the nearest hospital and now I am not so sure it is a possibility. Also, I have my first ultrasound next week to make sure it is just one baby since there is a teeny tiny chance it could be multiples. Of course if it is mulitiples, I will just be lucky to find a doctor that will even try to deliver them vaginally How far are people usually from the nearest hospital?
Hey Michelle, that's awesome you want a home birth~! And so exciting you're building a house. I know many have had homebirths being like an hour away from the hospital. (We're about 30 minutes from the hospital the back up OB to our midwife delivers at, may be longer with LA traffic though) Good luck with your decision, hope you stick around and good luck with your u/s to see your lil baby~
Yay Michelle I hope you get the home birth you want! I'm not really sure about the hospital being far away, we have a bunch of hospitals and the one I would have to go to is probably 10-15 minutes by car.

With my first, I was about 30 minutes from the hospital he was born at. We have since moved and are planning an HBAC with this baby, I'm about 10 minutes from our hospital and we have a fire department just down the street from us just in case any sort of emergency should appear.
