So I've been wanting a homebirth since my daughter was born last year. We are now TTC and I was starting to get worried. i will be on Medicaid when I get pg and neither of the homebirth midwives in our area accept it. Our state reimburses for homebirths, but no provider was available.

My DH actually suggested an unassisted birth (wanted to know if it was legal! lol). But I'm not confident enough in myself for that.

Anyway, a couple days ago our local AP group notified us that a new homebirth midwife was coming to our area!! Sweet! I dug around online and found her email address and emailed her. She WILL be able to accept medicaid!! She's also a big advocate of good nutrition and exercise during pregnancy which is great! I soooo need a kick in the butt in that direction!

Just had to share my news! I've been a long time lurker here and I'm going to try to be around more often. For those who don't know me, i'm Kelli and I have 2 girls, Courtney is 3.5 and Nola is 18 months

The world today is upside down because there is so very little love in the home, and in family life. We have no time for each other. Everybody is in such a terrible rush, and so anxious…and in the home begins the disruption of the peace of the world.

Kim - her name is Rebecca Parker. I think the AP group is trying to put together a 'Meet and greet" type activity once she's here. I haven't actually met her yet so I hope I like her. I met with Shannon who was going to be Karissa's midwife and I really liked her, but we'd have to pay out of pocket (though her fee is low and she includes everything including the birth pool and birth kit in her fee).

not preggo yet! lol I'm working right now on losing a bit of weight and I'll be starting clomid with the next cycle. no chance of getting pregnant if all the troops get to the party but the guest of honor is MIA.
