We had our first meeting with a Midwife who works in our area. She was recommended by a friend of my sisters.
I LOVED her instantly. My daughter who is incredibly shy of everyone acted as if she was as comfortable around her as her own grandma.
she lives 30 minutes away from us. a lot closer than i thought originally. Im so excited to be starting the process of making it official.
The most amazing part is that out of all the hospitals and all the doctors in the surrounding cities she is available to work in- our family doctor (who is up until now seeing me for this pregnancy as well.) is HER doctor!!
so its good to know that if something comes up in an emergency- our family doctor is the next best thing to a home birth.
but then again- doctors only have so much say in how things can go in labor and delivery- he is restricted by hospital rules and policies.
And I am very much wanting to have more control over my experience this time-and very glad to be much more informed on the choices im making etc.
Anyway, I am SO excited for this opportunity! My DH is so supportive and all my family is too-even though i am the first one in the family to be doing this! who knows, maybe i'll start a new family trend.
Everyones going to think we're weird for not circumcising-that will be a first too. Im not sure what they will say.
at first I told DH it was up to him-and he said of course he'd be circumcised and i asked if he knew anything about it and he said no-and so then i tried to tell him about it but i got two sentences into the detail and he told me to stop-never talk about it again and there was no way if we have a boy he'd be circumcised. lol. im glad DH has a weak stomach - so I get my way on the subject this time.
