I'm planning on a homebirth with this baby. I have rented a birthing tub (haven't decided whether I with birth in it or just labor in it....won't decide until the time comes). So my question is, how do you drain the tub after you've used it?

The rental company in my area comes back within 24 hours, drains it and takes the tub out.

That said, I don't really want a giant tub sitting in my living room, even if it is for 24 hours, so we might just get an inflatable pool or skip it.

Hmm, I think I'm going to have to ask my midwives how it's usually done.

I think where theres a will theres a way. Easiest route would be to pump but you can always have do it old fashion and bucket the water out. I just recently heard of a homebirth mommy near me giving birth in her backyard, which I bet was a super easy clean up...time to water the grass!

Well, it will be freezing and possibly snowy when I give birth so no backyard birth for me.

Some come with a pump, or you can buy one seperatly. You can use a bucket and do it by hand, etc. I would ask your Midwife how she normally likes to do things.
