Whenever I am flipping channels and happen across "A Baby Story" or "Bringing Baby Home" I end up yelling at the TV. I rarely even watch them, but whenever I catch some.... I end up yelling...

tell me I'm not the only one!

oh yeah! I watch them, but I get mad at them. Especially the one today... mom was induced with her first baby, uterus got hyperstimulated and clamped down on baby so she had a crash C/S. Then they told her they have "no idea" why it happened but because of it, she wasn't eligible for a VBAC. Ugh.

I do get mad at that show, but they will have natural births on every once in a while. Although they treat it every second like it's soooo dangerous etc. There was a water birth on there once, and the voiceover artist for A Baby Story attempted a homebirth but was transferred to the hospital because of complications.

Don't get me wrong, most of the time it makes me angry and I don't know why I watch it, but there are some good episodes now and then

my Dh will hear something on there and turn to me and ask "is that true?" it sparks some interesting discussions.

ME! I yell at them so I banned myself from watching them..lol. Even my son has noticed the amount of csections on those shows...he seems to always walk in while they're cutting and he says 'ANOTHER surgery???' Perceptive for a 9 year old. At first he was a little weirded out about us having the baby at home, but now he is totally into it. I'm glad he's going to be very open minded when he's married and having children. Oh...sometimes they do show natural births on those shows, but it seems like 9 times out of 10 the women are screaming. Every now and then I will see a woman moan in a low productive tone, but not too often. So, it's either c-section or mad screaming. Yeah...not good for any first time mom to watch

Yup! I yell at them too! The c/s stories are the ones that piss me off the most because of the over use of pitocin and AROM that constantly happens.

AROM stands for Artificial Rupture of Membranes.. ie breaking the water.
