There is a local midwife around my area (NY) that also sees patients in NJ. Apparently in NJ it is illegal to do homebirth VBACs, well illegal for midwives to attend.... actually to be honest I'm not entirely sure of the exact wording of the law. Anyways, this local midwife attended a HB VBAC and ended up with transfer afterwards due to a retained piece of placenta. Now she's under investigation and in risk of losing her license. I hate laws like this that prevent women from making informed choices for their healthcare. I mean the midwife did everything right, and transferred when needed, what would have been dangerous would have NOT been transferring.
Stupid men. You know its the men who are making theses laws, they don't have to push it out so why let us choose where and how to birth?
I really hope she doesn't lose her license! I had an HBAC and that was because I could not find a doctor to back me in having a VBAC in the hospital! I was not going to have another section because of it.
