How long does your m/w usually stick around? When does she come back to check on you?

I believe they stayed for 2 hours after Dane was born. They made Jason and I dinner and he helped them clean up the pool. They started laundry. Did all the vital checks and such.

Her student midwife came back the next day and then i saw my midwife 3 days post.

I had Kate a little before 2am and my midwives left about 5am. Kate had some breathing issues after birth so the majority of their time was spent with her and observing her. I don't know whats normal for them, I guess it depends on the situation. They do come back 12 hours after birth and then again 48 hours later.

I know she stays at least several hours, but I'm not positive if there is a "set" time.

She indicated that she'd be staying about 4-6 hrs after birth to help clean up and start laundry. She also said that she'd be coming back at 24 hrs, and then we'd figure out frequency from there.

My MW/apprentice stayed for 3 hours after he was born. They cooked for us, cleaned up, did vitals etc. Then they came back 24 hours later and then again 3 days later and a week later.

One of my midwives stayed with me for 2 hours after the birth then I went to the office 3 days later. They're pretty laid back and I had no complications so they weren't too concerned about me. I was up and on the couch 2 hours after I had the baby so they didn't really need to come check on me.

Normally 2 hours for my MW, but maybe longer if I feel I need her. She comes back each day for a few days, and then at 2 weeks and 6 weeks. I am able to call her 24/7 also. I think I'm going to have my MIL stay with us over night for that first day.

I think mine said she stays for about 2 hours. And I believe she comes back 48 hours later.
