We met with an OB at the local hospital tonight. He was recommended by ICAN and I now know why. His view is that women should try VBACS and that there's nothing wrong with homebirthing. He agreed that he'd be our back-up just in case we need to go to the hospital... He's worked with my midwife before as a doula and likes her. Very impressed with him!
Now we have our whole "birth team" in place all we have to do is wait for baby to come!
This OB actually does back-up for 1-2 homebirths a month and said that as long as baby and I were fine he'd wait for spontaneous labor to happen if I went post dates. He also stated that he'd be fine waiting for my body to deliver and wouldn't push for it to hurry up and have the baby... He's actually a very rare find in the OB world.
