I have NO ideas for a midwife's gift. Especially after everything that happened. Any ideas?

I am so glad someone posted this. I would have totally not to do this and what a great idea. I am thinking I want to make something like a hybrid digital scrapbook craft something useful though.

Be sure to check out the previous threads, I know there were a wide variety of ideas. As for us, I am hiring a professional photographer for my birth and plan on ordering two books from her. I'll be giving my midwives one of those.

I didn't get my MW anything. We weren't exactly close... but it's a good idea. Not sure if I'll do it next time cuz I think we're doing a UA.

For Reid's birth I got her a photobook that also had my birth story written alongside the pictures. After Eleanor was born I got her a gift certificate for newborn photos (she was due just a few weeks after me).

Yeah, I'm not sure she wants to remember my birth story... Thanks for the help! Maybe I'll cross-stitch something, or make her some jewelry.

My first midwife I made a thank-you card with birth-announcement type info on the inside and a pic of her holding newborn Thomas. She really liked it.

My last midwife I didn't get her anything. Maybe that's why she hasn't returned my phone calls?

I told my dh about this whole midwife gift thing and he's like He says we pay her all this money out of our pocket and you want to give her a gift too? Then he mentions that we never got our other midwives gifts... but they were CNMs and we didn't pay them, insurance did and all the delivery was covered at the hospital.

So, whatever I do for her will have to be very inexpensive.

Since y'all are talking midwife gift... do you get your midwife anything for the holidays?

I never bought anything for my midwives around the holidays, but if I had an appt around then I'd bring some cookies that we baked.

I got my midwife one of those arterial thermometers, but then I made a little cozy for it.

I noticed my midwife had a lot of mom-made items, like the carrier she attaches to her weigh scale (mom-made), the fuzzy cover for her tape measure (mom-made), the plush uterus she uses to explain babies to siblings (mom-made) and so on. So, maybe you could make your midwife something, either something she could use in her practice or something just for her (like a scarf).
