I talked to my husband tonight while on a drive (the boys were restless and this is a last ditch resort to take a drive) and thought of this idea.
I think I am going to e-mail my midwife about 2 weeks into January. I am going to start writing it in word now so that gives me time to sit down and get the thoughts out. I want to 1st update her on Dane and such and then explain the situation. She knows how much I fear having to go to the hospital to birth again and was very supportive of my choice to have an HBAC with Dane. I am hoping that she will take me on as a patient and lower the cost. She said she went from $1,200 - $2,100. We were at $1,860 by the end of Dane's birth.
I would still apply for the state insurance and have that as a back up in case something did happen. However, I am hoping we can meet with her again and discuss everything. I really want another home birth, I feel so strongly about it. Heck, I even told Jason while I am not comfortable with the idea of a UA, I would consider it. Maybe see an OB for prenatal and then just have a "quick" labor at home and couldn't make it in time. I don't know. I doubt I would do that honestly, I was just spewing ideas, you know?
So I think I will write her an e-mail and hopefully I will have my 2nd home birth
