This morning I had a midwife appointment. Found out that my insurance has pre-approved the cost up to $4000. My midwife's fee is $6500, and she is giving me a $1000 discount (for repeat "customers" LOL), so it ends up only costing us $1500. I'm very grateful because if it had been $2500, that would have been a lot for us.
We talked about how I wasn't feeling a lot of movement, and I had some worries about that. Turns out the placenta is in front, so that explains that! Heartbeat was in the 140s, urine is good and blood pressure was good as well. All in all a good visit!
I've been concerned because one of my midwives (there are two plus an apprentice) was planning on going to a Midwifery conference on june 11 in DC. I'm due June 5, and last time i was a week late, so I was really worried that she'd miss my birth. I feel completely confident in my other midwives, but I just wanted her there too. She told me today, that she probably won't be attending the conference... so I'm a bit relieved about that.

Yay for a good appt and yay that your midwife should be able to attend the birth!

That's great that your insurance is covering so much of it! I'm glad all of the midwives will be around during your birth (hopefully!). Sounds like a good appt!
