Thanks Kelli!

Fran is in Seattle now. She told me she would love me as a client but she is not taking medicaid any more and I can't afford to pay a midwife She told me about a lady in Prosser. Her name is Kristin with Sunrise Midwifery. So that is who I am meeting with Next Sunday. I hope I like her.

Who did you use again? I am forgetful? And do you know if they accept Medicaid?

I met with her when I was deciding who to use, but I didn't like how far she was from me. She's closer to you. She seemed really nice and personable. I went with Shannon but she doesn't take medicaid so it was about $1500 out of pocket. it was hard to come up with and I ended up borrowing some from my mom but she was worth it

Hopefully you like Kristin!

$1500 isn't bad, Fran is charging $2400

my first birth was in the hospital, labor wasn't progressing as fast as they wanted so the induced me with pitocin, I was forced to lay on my back or side, I couldn't sit up cause then they couldn't monitor baby. I got up multiple times to sit on the toilet because that was 1 thing they didn't try to stop me from doing, it hurt bad to sit in there but it was way better then laying down in a bed, I brought my own birthing ball to sit on but they wouldn't let me use it, I couldn't do anything

I was not going to go through that again, so I new a home birth was the right choice for me. My mom had my 2 youngest sisters at home and I was there for both births. I always wanted a home birth I was just scared to do it for my first birth, now I wish I would have been brave enough to try it for my first.

See that's really interesting to me, cuz I'm still considering what I'm doing, and I've always heard all the people who've had both always say they liked their home birth better, and I really wanted to find somebody to tell me what they liked about it better since I don't think I've had the same bad hospital experiences, I have some complaints, but not those ones...I actually don't mind being in the bed, that's part of the difference. I did stand up, they did let me in my last labor, and they had me trying various positions to help me progress, I think maybe my hospital experience has just been better than some other ladies and that's part of why Idk what to do now!

Welcome back Jenny! How exciting I'm glad that you're still going to get your home birth even though your last midwife moved away. I remember you posting about that.

Glad you're back
