Try to get some rest! Sounds like some major prodromal labor! I hope active labor starts soon for you.

Thanks

I slept forever today. I was up almost 24 hours from the contractions. I'll be going to bed again soon. I want to get as much rest as I can before the real thing. I wish these contractions weren't painful enough to keep waking me up!

My mom was in labor for 27 hours before my sister was born. I wish my labor was only 27 hours LOL! Its been over 48 hours of just early labor so far. I can't wait for active labor to set in.

Sorry the birth center was so lame! sigh.
I'm glad you got some sleep and that things are progressing (even if slowly) I'll keep checking for you.
(ps - sorry I didn't check earlier - I ended up in L&D this afternoon b/c I was contracting (just braxton hicks but still) like 3 times in 10 min! - stupid - I wish I could send my regularity to you LOL! - anyway - no idea why and it's stopped so I got to go home.)

Definitely sounds like a lot of prodromal labor. I had it with my third as well. In fact after over 24 hours of it, I got to 5cm then it completely stopped for 2 days, started back up again for nearly 20 hours.

I know its hard, and can be very discouraging at times, but for me, I found that my active labor phase actually went more smoothly and was a tad easier (if active labor can be easy).

Huge hugs and lots of encouragement here! Your body knows what it's doing, it just needs to time to work through the scar tissue and the dysfunction that comes with it. First VBACs can be long labors - the best thing you can do is rest and make sure your baby is in a good position! A midwife friend of mine suggests to her VBAC clients that they have a warm bath, a glass of wine, and scrub the kitchen floors on hands and knees to get the baby in a good position.

I hope that things have taken off and you're now holding a beautiful healthy baby!

I'm sorry!!! I wish I could help. I guess prelabour can last quite a while. My friend who had a vbac - was in prelabour for a while too. Can you tell how baby is doing? Can you tell if you are dilating more? I wish I could come over and make you tea! more

Hang in there mama! Prelabor is the time to do what you can to relax. Make sure the baby is in a good position. A wise MW I know suggests this:

Quote:
Just a quick note - because this often helps a lot...and it can't hurt

If you are experiencing a putsy labor (stopping and starting, irregular) or harder labor with no progress - if you have a lot of back labor, etc... this is worth a try. The mechanics of it are like this: Move baby back out of the pelvis a little. Change the angles of your pelvis and give baby a chance to straighten up. Think of it as getting a tight sock over your heel - wiggling your foot helps!

First, assume a knee chest position for 2 - 3 contractions

Next, WITHOUT getting up - roll over on to your side and get into a sims position. Keep the lower leg straight, the upper bent, and rest here for 2 - 3 contractions.

Now roll on to your back for 2 - 3 contractions, then to your other side (sims position) for 2 - 3 contractions. Get up and see if there is any difference in your labor. If no change, repeat the proceedure, this time rolling to the opposite side of the way your rolled previously.

It's worth a try, and can make a difference even late in labor...
If you have some take a strong dose of liquid magnesium calcium and or a glass of red wine. I hope you're holding up, meditating and finding some way to enjoy the last few moments of your pregnancy! I'm still keeping you in my thoughts. Hugs!

She's kicking around a lot. I'm glad she's doing okay but it makes the contractions that much worse.

I can't reach my cervix to tell if I'm dilating more and DH is no good at it. So I have no idea. Saturday night I was 1 cm and 90% effaced.

I don't really know you so I'm assuming this is unassisted....

is there a midwife that you can call to come check you, check on baby and possibly give you some ideas on natural ways to augment labor?

good luck at the hospital I don't blame you after this long. I hope they will at least consider something other than a section. KUP when you can, I hope all goes smoothly, whatever the outcome!

Good luck at the hospital! Girl - you put in one heck of an effort!!! I hope they are good and respectful to you there. - I don't know if you'll read this before - but it may be just some really good pain killers can get you out of the stall. Your body might just be overwhelmed after so long at it.
In any case - I'm glad that you will have your little one to hold very very soon!
