Thanks for thinking of me! Wednesdays are our super busy days with Jonah's appointments, and my mom is here (she's just as hyper as the kid, she's wearing me out LOL) so I've been spending less time on the internet. I've been checking here for Bethy and BoppityBoo though; I'm sure they have had their babies by now!

I think I'm finally in labor! I had cramping last night that I thought was probably just indigestion (we had tacos for dinner) but very quickly, between 11:00 and 11:15 it get really painful, and I could time them. It happened so fast DH freaked out and called the midwife and set up the tub etc. I think early labor is going to last a while though. contractions haven't changed really since then, and they aren't long (45 seconds) although close together. They hurt, but I know they are going to hurt a lot more- comparing from Jonah's labor on a scale of one to ten I'd say these probably fall into three or four as far as how intense they are. But if I've never given birth I'd probably say ten cause I'm a wimp LOL

The grandmas are watching Jonah which is nice because the contractions seemed to ebb off when I was getting him breakfast and worried about caring for him. I told DH to go to work since he works 15 minutes away, and I'll call him if things start progressing. I'm going to call the midwife in about an hour to see what she wants me to do.

It is going smoothly besides slowly. And I've been getting terrible leg cramps with each contraction. I told the moms that if they hear me yelling it's because of my legs not the contractions. I'm thinking we still have a long way to go, probably she'll be here within 24 hours though!

Oh, and I think the trick was: my mom told me and daryl to take a date night tonight and she would watch Jonah. We were actually really excited about getting to go to a movie and dinner HA fat chance now

So exciting! I agree that planning something special always guarantees that labor will kick in. Sending you lots of labor vibes

well, just an update: There isn't anything to update LOL

contractions still hurt a lot, but still only 45 seconds lond and 3-5 minutes apart. They haven't gotten any more painful either. I've been sleeping a lot, and feeling like I have to go to the bathroom every five seconds. My mom is worried about where I'm feeling them though- in the lower part of my belly and through to my back. She said they are supposed to go from the top of the belly? They feel pretty similar to when I was dilated to about 1 with Jonah though; I am pretty sure they were low in the belly with him to.

I wanted to sleep for a while and then get Jonah his lunch so I didn't call the midwife yet, but I'm about to as soon as I finish my own lunch. If this is just another false labor I'm going to be so embarrassed and feel guilty about calling her at midnight last night. It just doesn't feel like anything is changing, when it did seem like everything was changing very quickly

Would sleeping slow labor down?

Sleep if you can for sure! If contractions persist while you sleep, then it is usually a sign that labor is real. If contractions go away then it might not be full labor yet. Everyone feels contractions differently. I don't think mine ever really felt like they were the top of my belly.

Feeling the contractions low is normal too. That is exactly where I felt my contractions with Paul. They were all on my lower belly and went under my belly.

Good luck hun, keep updating us as you can!!

thanks for all the positive thoughts. The midwife told me pretty much what I thought she would tell me, and that's to just wait. I'm still having painful contractions, but they still aren't "going anywhere" I'm trying not to get frustrated. We went to Baby's R Us because I had a return to make, and I have to walk my dog or he'll poop in the house plus it actually helped with the leg cramps. But I guess she is like her brother and is just taking her time coming out. The midwife said it could be something as simple as she's sucking her fingers and not tucking her chin. She also said that the leg cramps are because the baby is so low that she is sitting on a nerve, and every contraction presses the nerve against the baby resulting in spasms and cramps. She said it is very common. I guess she is going to come to check on me tomorrow.

They seem more intense when I am alone, on my ball or in bed etc, but I think I am just focusing more on them.

I reeeeeeeeeeallly hope she comes by tomorrow afternoon sometime because BIL is coming from California and 1. I'd really like for him (and my mom) to get maximum time with the baby since they live far away, and 2. I really don't want just one more person here in the house while I'm giving birth LOL There's a whole entourage at this point! We all thought she'd be here by now so we kind of scheduled accordingly. That was dumb of us

maybe if you try hands and knees it will get her to get into just the right position and get off that nerve?

I hope the next time I check there's a more eventful update! good luck tonight!

I agree, maybe getting on your hands and knees will help move her into a more favorable position. I honestly think thats what did me in with Paul... I spent a good two hours about 8 hours before early labor on my hands and knees scrubbing bathtubs. LOL

I've been on my hands and knees; it seems to be the most comfortable for me... or on my birth ball with the top of me draped over and legs kind of kneeling. It definitely helps my back not ache, and I have noticed that there are no leg cramps with those contractions.

We've pretty much resumed life around here though, and I just go off by myself if I need to during contractions. We're going to a little festival in our town tonight for dinner. I think going about our daily routines has helped me not get frustrated, but at the same time it's really hard to have conversations with my friends etc when I'm having these contractions. My mom's birthday is tomorrow and everyone says she's just waiting to share birthdays! We'll see.

I might not update again until things really start moving because I don't want to frustrate myself

I don't blame you. well, hopefully your mom is right and she just wants grandma's birthday!

I have a feeling with all this drawn out pre-labor, once you get to active labor you are going to go FAST!
