asking about this here b/c I'm giving up on trying to contact my mw

Lucy Marie was six weeks old yesterday, on Sunday I started having some dark brownish/red spotting. My lochia had stopped, I'm nursing on demand and have never had any spotting- usually my cycles don't return for 15 months or longer while bf'ing. There is no odor, no pain or cramping, and I'm feeling really great.

I'd appreciate any ideas.. should I be concerned?

I wouldn't worry since you're feeling great and no odor or pain...if that changes then I would be a bit concerned. I think I had something very similar- thinking it was AF coming back, but if I remember right my MW said it was my hormones trying to regulate.....I didn't get AF back until 6months PP. Hope this helps some.

Usually my bleeding stops around 3-4 weeks PP and then I have some spotting around 6 weeks PP and then nothing until AF returns. I think it is normal but it didn't happen with all of my pregnancies, only some of them.

that's reassuring- after googling it is apparently pretty common but has never happened to me personally. Thanks, Ladies!

I had random spotting for a couple months after having Nola and she was breastfed too. I dunno, guess out bodies just do that sometimes!

This exact same thing happened to me this time around. I was thrown for a loop as well and thought it was AF or something!

I've got spotting right now that looks just like AF about to start, and I'm kinda wondering if it is or not. Would be kinda nice if it meant I was going to be able to track ovulations, but I'm kinda thinking it's just my body being weird, because with Rebecca I spotted like this like five times before I actually had my cycles back!
