I am not sure who is doing your Home Visit. I just had my Doula over for an appointment yesterday. She wanted to see the whole house, where the washer dryers were, bathrooms, places they could sleep or rest if there was a long labor. She also checked out my tub (I wanted to see if what we had would work or if I would have to rent one) and she even took a picture with me inside to send to the MW.
The only "prep" I did was clean my house! I had mine at 36 weeks, and we were supposed to have our birth kit/extra supplies all together in one place for her to check over. We gave her a tour, so she'd know where things were, and then she checked me as she would in any prenatal visit. Pretty simple
Okay, mainly in my view point the home visit is just to get an idea of: 1)where your house is 2) to familiarize themselves with things in your home ie: bathroom, kitchen, etc 3) to do your prenatal appointment at home
Thats how both my home visits went with both my home birth pregnancies. Its mainly just to get an idea of where you live so they can get there and where things are kept in your home that they would use.
I just cleaned up to make it not look like I had been a lazy pregnant lady They're not there to nit pick your home haha, just to be able to get an idea of where the basics are so they're not asking you guys when you're in labor
Don't fret! Just make sure you have all your stuff together in one area for her to show her so she can look it over. Be prepared to give a tour and have your visit at home. Its actually fun, well it is with my midwives haha.
