Anyone else guilty of it? I couldn't manage converstations and actually talking on the phone, so I spent parts of labor texting my best friend about when she should come over. I also texted my mom and dad too since I couldn't carry a conversation.

Yup, guilty. I also spent my last labor with Dane shopping online haha. I had to kill time somehow before hard labor kicked in!

My midwives actually had a great rule... once the baby is born, there is no phone calls/texting or internet until after the placenta is born. Our first instincts were to call family, but were told right away no way.... we enjoyed those first 10-20 minutes with no interruptions, and it was great!!

I think it was an hour after Dane was born before we said anything to anyone. I think its a great rule too! We enjoyed that first hour of just the 3 of us. Gage was at my moms.

I am happy for that "rule" too. I will always remember my mom and dad texting me during pushing... i didn't look at it till after (obviously), but they were asking me for updates. LOL

Haha! I'm glad my mom is techno-dumb She still can't get the basic concept of copy and paste so if she could figure out how to text, I'd be concerned!

My MWs had that rule too. We didn't call our family until after the MWs left, which was almost 3 hours after he was born! We'll probably do the same thing this time too.
