Yikes I'm a bit excited. I *think* there is a huge chance that I can have a home/water birth. I've always wanted one and once I speak to my midwife on Monday I'll know more.

Everything just seems to be happening for a reason and all gearing towards a home birth Within the last 24 hours I found out that my midwives are relocating to a hospital twice as far from me down in NJ and that our local hospital here in PA which is 3 miles from our house just opened their brand new NICU.

Doug (DH) did an about face and suddenly decided that perhaps a home birth would be fine (men!) after him telling me no way to it!

So....eeek! I'm nervous, excited and will be lurking and hanging out if I may

Oh...little about me:

I'm Joanne, married to Doug. We have 3 little boys. Logan 4, Shaun 2.5 & Gavin 18 months. Expecting a baby girl in February 2011. Had a loss in February of this year which devastated us. Needless to say we were tight lipped about this pregnancy until after our CVS test at 11 weeks and we're still nervous. I just want February to be here already Actually I want Feb. to be here so I can actually see that she's a she because I still can't believe it (after 3 boys it's quiet the shock!)

I'm the co-host for March 09 PR and the Mommy Guide for another month for the May 2011 DDC. Love JM and hopefully looking forward to sharing my home birth/water birth with you all

Joanne

PS: Gavin our last baby was a hospital, meds free water birth and it was amazing. I wanted to go home 20 mins. after he arrived because I felt so good. It was the single most amazing moment of my ENTIRE life. I cry just thinking about it (darn pregnancy hormones!)

HEY! This place is great. I'm still just a hopeful homebirther....but I check in often! I am DETERMINED to convince hubby that this is what we need!

How wonderful that you are going to get your dream come true!!! Our last birth was in a birthing center...it was also a water birth...fabulous!

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

Of course you know I'm thrilled you're here!

I'm weeks away from mine, whenever he decides to show up.. and I'm so excited! This whole process has been so much fun, I wish I would have fought harder for one earlier!
