Hi ladies! I am hoping to have a Homebirth with my next baby. Dh and I are going to meet with a midwife on Tuesday for a pre-conception meeting to determine if I can even have a homebirth due to some things in my medical history. Is there anything you ladies think I should ask her? I am kind of at a loss for questions. My dh has almost a page of questions (mainly because he wants to make sure it is "safe"), but nothing comes from my mind. Is there anything you wished you would have known before your first homebirth? Thanks a bunch for the help!
Our midwife pretty much answered all our questions before we could ask them just in the normal course of her explaining her practice, beliefs, etc :lol I did ask her what happens if I went past 42 weeks and what percentage of clients ended up being hospital transports.
Best wishes for your interview!

If you want ultasounds or certain testing, how does that work? If something happens in the course of the pregnancy where you are no longer a candidate for a MW or HB is there a specific OB she works with/transfers to? How does she handle emergency transfers. What happens if she is unavailable or at another birth when you go into labor. If you would like certain interventione such as regular cervical checks after 36 weeks, AROM, etc... would she be willing to do those things?
