Hi my name is Sarah, I just found out that I am pregnant! I have always wanted to have a home birth, but I am having trouble finding midwives that are not hours away. Can anyone suggest some good midwives near Troy, Asheboro, Thomasville, or Albemarle NC. Those are my closest cities and even they are 30+ minutes away. Thanks!

have you tried joining any local home birth groups, or even contacting your local LLL? You might be able to find the names of some HomeBirth Midwives there. Also a simply google search might bring up some names? You can also call midwives that are farther away, they might know of ones closer to you.

Good luck, and I do hope you find someone! Congrats on your pregnancy! I hope you stick around!

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

LLL is your Le Lache League.

You might have a hard time finding a midwife to do a home birth in NC, well a CPM (certified professional midwife) because it is illegal for them to practice without a license. You might find a CNM (certified nurse) who would attend your birth but they must have a backing doctor. Which could be hard to find.

North Carolina Home Birth - Midwifery

there is a tab in that link to find a homebirth midwife. I'd fill out the form and send it in.

Good luck! I hope you can figure out something to work for you

and welcome!

Im in Fort Bragg! Im useing Donna Galati at Monarch Midwifery. Im not sure exactly where you are at. Unfortunately there are not a lot of CNM's in NC and CPM are illegal here so there are harder to find!

Google Birth Choice in Fort Mill, SC. They are just over the border in SC.
