I am wondering if any of you on here have had any experience with a home birth abroad? My husband, DS, and I are currently living in Chengdu, China, and we just found out that I am four weeks pregnant with #2. I had been very much hoping for a home birth with our second child, but now I am coming up short when it comes to finding viable options for midwives/homebirth attendants. I really don't think that there are any practicing in the whole of China. I would be interested in hearing any birth stories or advice from others of you who may have dealt with a situation like this, and how you overcame the logistical hurdles. TIA!!
Thank you to the SSMC makers for my beautiful siggies!
You know I have Molly We had a home birth in the UK (though we are American)
We're going to the embassy tomorrow to register his birth/get his us birth certificate and his passport. It's quite costly actually to register his birth...and then the cost of his passport and then his visa not counting the cost we paid for the private midwife. But it was worth it. I wouldn't have it any other way, our home birth was sooo worth it!!!! I doubt this helps you any!
