Sooooooo..... as some of you may know, I'm currently taking a midwife assistant class and today's class was on placentas. One of the women helping with the class does placenta encapsulation along with prints, tinctures, and other keepsakes.

After Paul's birth, we had a nice time looking at the placenta. I had a true knot in the cord, the cord was 32 inches long, the placenta was heart shaped and there was a calcification where I had swine flu during my pregnancy. it was really interesting to look at. We didn't have any real plans for the placenta at my birth, so my midwives asked if they could take it, since it was an interesting one, and they'd use it for students..... little did I know at the time, that I would be one of the students.

We looked at 6 placentas today, and immediately I knew which one was mine! The woman who does the placenta stuff offered to take it for me and make a print of it. I'm so excited! Who would have thought that 8 months later I'd be seeing my placenta again, and get such a neat keepsake!

That's so cool that you got to see it again and will get a print! My midwives did one for us right after the birth and it's a really great keepsake.

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

Wow, how very interesting.
Honestly DH and I had no plans to do anything with the placenta include even look at it...
However, I just showed this thread to him and now we are both re-considering that decision. Thank you for enlightning us.
