Will you use one for your Homebirth? Are you a doula? Have you used one before?

I have never used a doula. HOWEVER, I wish I had with my last birth. In the last few weeks I felt very strongly that I needed one, but thought a) it was too late and b) my midwife is a trained doula and she would be able to play that role. However, she was too busy setting up to really be there as much as I needed. She did pretty good, but I would have liked having someone who was there solely as a doula. Next time I plan on having one.

I am a doula and have attended lots of homebirths. We can still be very helpful in a homebirth setting, especially depending on when your MW is planning on coming to your labor and who she might have as an assistant or apprentice.

I had a doula with my last birth, she was my midwife's mother and was more of a help to my midwife than me, but I was glad she was there. I think there were just too many people at my birth for all of them to be useful, I'm definitely kicking more people out next time around.

I would if we could afford a doula AND the homebirth....the doula I wanted was my midwife from last time LOL...I would have gotten her if dh insisted on a hospital birth...thankfully he agreed to a homebirth but that meant no doula.

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

I am a training to be a Doula through CBI. I dont think we will be having one just because my midwife has a student who has been with me since the beginning and will be attending the birth. She is who i call for advice and what not, and i dont want too many people there. She is a doula so im getting that support. Also the woman who is doing our birth photography is a Doula as well.

I would not use a doula. I don't find them necessary for me.
